What does it mean to be ready for life?

Every action we take on a day to day basis creates a lasting memory in our body.

These memories are formed within your brain and put into action by integrating chemical energy from our food, mentally planning how to achieve a task and finally creating the physical movement. It is through repetition that our brain learns and adapts. This happens so frequently; we are often not aware of these deep integral patterns linked within our neurology. You might notice though that the more you practice your golf swing, paint brush stroke or cohesive writing, the less conscious thought has to be put towards completing it the next time around.

Therefore, just like athletes prepare, analyse and fine-tune their bodies before a big race or event, we also undergo this kind of preparation daily, on a smaller scale.
You have a set list of procedures for your life; like a blueprint or a checklist. For example, my morning checklist includes a shower, coffee, getting dressed, breakfast and off I go! I have this checklist because I have learned that starting a big day without one of these things starts to tip the balance and puts me at a disadvantage.

In order to succeed you need to set the groundwork for healthy habits by planting seeds early on and allowing these routines and rituals to flourish. Just like an athlete takes months and sometimes years to train, prepare and learn how to optimise their performance so should you. Treat yourself like a masterpiece that is a constant work in progress, tweak it as you go and invest in the long game. This means building strategies to support your body now as well as for the future.

For this to work effectively you need a strong purpose or a reason WHY .

This is very important to drive these daily routines. Otherwise why bother? Ever wondered why most New Year’s resolutions get thrown out the window after a few weeks? That’s because there isn’t a solid WHY behind them, motivating you to commit and do the work to create lasting change. Next time you set yourself a goal, take time to explore WHY you want to achieve it, what positive change it will bring to you and into your life.

Remind yourself of this WHY when you struggle to keep up with the work, visualise yourself achieving this goal and the road to success won’t be as tough.

No matter what your purpose might be, here’s a few tips for success

Key ingredients to be ready for life

  • Fuel your body with a wide variety of foods from different groups and colours
  • Make sure your posture is not sapping energy from your day
  • Physical exercise as creates happy endorphins and generates healthy movement
  • Eight hours of sleep is important to have enough charge in your battery

Without one of these key ingredients, you are starting the day at a disadvantage before it has even begun!

The 5th secret ingredient is getting your spine regularly tuned up and adjusted. Chiropractic care as part of a regular routine will ensure optimal balance within your structure which affects your posture, mood and how well you function.

When you’ve covered these five fundamental bases, you’re more likely to be successful; gaining confidence in your professional life, being more present to create more meaningful relationships in your personal life and having more energy and focus to offer your family.

So make your goals.

Find your WHY.

Plant the seeds and reap the benefits of a long healthy life.
